Online Resources For New Parents
Losing a child is one of the most traumatic experiences to go through. While there is nothing to take away the pain, we do want families to know that there are online resources for new parents. The Butterflies and Birdies Foundation helps families that have lost a child due to SIDS or stillbirth. We have personally suffered through this tragedy and understand how the smallest things can have a lasting impact.
How Resources for Grieving Parents Can Help
The Butterflies and Birdies Foundation wants parents to know that there are safe spaces where they can connect with others, share their stories and learn to rebuild their lives after losing a child. Even though grief is extremely personal, there are stages that parents go through after the loss of a child. By utilizing the available resources, grieving parents can reduce isolation and feel more connected to others.
Here are some examples of the types of resources for bereaved parents that are available:
- Nonprofit organizations. Community organizations work with families that have lost a child. We donate CuddleCots to hospitals for stillborn babies, and we donate Owlet Smart Socks to new parents to reduce the risk of SIDS.
- Support groups. These resources for bereaved parents may be found online or through local churches. They’re an easy way to meet other families who are going through the grieving process.
- Online websites. Thanks to the internet, there are many helpful resources for grieving parents. This can be incredibly comforting in the early days when parents may not be ready to leave their home.
